Recently, Luis Artiga and Teresa Jacobo sent out campaign mailers, flyers, and they stated on their website that they are endorsed by the Bell Police Department. This is a false endorsement!  The interim Chief of police and City Manager deny that the Bell Police Department or the Bell Police Association endorse any of the candidates.

If one officer endorses the incumbents, it doesn’t mean the whole department endorses them.  Pictures in the mailers, which include Bell police officers are taken during community events and the incumbents are taking advantage of these pictures by posting them without the consent of the officers.  These candidates are trying to fool our citizens.  The incumbents should not be allowed to use the police department as the face of their campaign.   Incumbents should discuss topics such as unnecessary spending using taxpayer’s money, public safety, and the future of our city.
